How to assess

You can assess your need for arch support at home by checking your foot within the mirror, examining your shoe wear patterns, and checking for pain and discomfort to identify your arch type.

Simple test
The first simple test is that on a Normal Arch, you should be able to slide your index finger under the inner arch with ease, if you cannot, this demonstrates a varying degree of flat feet.

Secondly, identify from the diagram above whether you fall into the category of flat feet. Even a mild flat foot can have an impact on the lower back, pelvis, hips, knees and ankles.

Stand in front of the mirror and look at your feet with your socks off.
You will automatically get a gauge of whether your feet are subtly collapsing in. The diagram shows that the shin bone (Tibia) and the line of the second toe (Metatarsal) should be in line with each other in a normal ankle and foot alignment.

Inspect the Soles of Your Shoes
Turn over your most-worn trainers or everyday shoes and check the tread wear (please see diagram for a better understanding of what to look out for):
Inner Edge Wear: If the sole is worn down heavily on the inside, you overpronate and need arch support to stabilize your gait.
Outer Edge Wear: If wear is heaviest on the outside, you underpronate (supinate) and need cushioning in the arch to evenly distribute your weight.

Check for Pain and Discomfort
Look out for these classic indicators that your foot foundation is struggling:
Morning Heel Pain: Sharp, stabbing pain when taking your first steps out of bed, which is a hallmark sign of Plantar Fasciitis, or Achilles Tendonitis.
Aches After Standing: General foot fatigue, arch pain, or swelling after standing for extended periods.
Leg & Back Pains: Unexplained knee, hip, or lower back pain, which often stems from poor foot alignment and a misaligned gait.

Next Steps
If your at-home assessment points to flat feet, high arches, or causes mild discomfort, you should purchase our Absolute Orthotic Insoles support to relieve pressure. However, if you experience persistent pain, stiffness, numbness, or have recurrent ankle injuries, it is highly recommended to book a Consultation and Examination with us for an official biomechanical assessment.

Description

Specifically designed to correct overpronation by supporting the arch, controlling the heel’s position, and encouraging a more neutral, efficient foot strike. Our Absolute Insoles provides two support points – the arch of the foot and the heel. By supporting these two points in the foot, the body weight is evenly distributed in these areas, and therefore helps stabilise the pelvis, allows true alignment of the lower limb, which in turn aids the Lower Back, Hips, Knees and Ankles and also prevents pain at the foot, Achilles, arch and heel.

To keep your feet fresh, our Absolute Insoles also feature a special activated coal layer that acts against unpleasant odour, making these the perfect choice for a range of activities.
